Thoughts on the public prayer of Witnesses

many years ago, a brother gave a public talk on prayer wherein he stated that "each prayer should be like a snowflake--no two should be exactly the same.

" i agreed with his sentiments, and as a good little jw boy, i resolved that each prayer i said to god would be unique.

however, there was a problem with my resolution: i could never see examples of older people making sure that each prayer was unique.

Does God mind being called the wrong name?

since it is a well known fact that god's name is definitely not jehovah, but this was a name only in 'operation' for the last few hundred years thanks to a catholic monk, doesn't the very jealous, bad tempered god of the ot mind being called, in effect, 'fred' when his real name is 'george'.. i would think that call anyone by a knowingly incorrect name is rude, rude, rude, so how does this bad tempered, psycopathic, mass murdering god of the ot feel about this transgression on the part of the wtbts/jehovah's witnesses!!????.

As long as the individual is humble and directs his/her prayer to the "most high GOD," there should not be any problem. It would be great to know beyond any question the PURE name of the supreme GOD of all things, thus we could develop a more human -secure relationship for our own personal security needs. But, perhaps, GOD hid his name on purpose for his creation to seek him out and research all things. Could this be a test for earthly mankind or another road leading to .....?

i don't think i am an apostate, but do feel like one for being on these boards as we were always warned not to at the meetings etc.. i disagree with so many things they teach, the main thing is the blood issue....being a new auntie, i love my niece soooo much and if i were the only person that could save her, how on earth could i not?

i'd be blood guilty for not saving her!!!!!

that in my books, would be murder.. however, may be it's because i've only been away from the mtgs for a year, but i still think of it most days and although i feel i've made the right decision as nothing was making me happy in it, and obvioulsy my ex beating me and getting away with it.....i still feel a certain pull towards it and a kind of insane loyalty???.

Good information and great post Randy!

For what it is worth, I can promise each and every one of you that one day, either from GOD or from earthly governmental officials, Justice will be served to the leadership AND to the lawyers of the WTB&TS. It is obvious that the misuse and abuse of the legal system is enjoyed by the WTB&TS. The JWs that can think and reason but are not taking any corrective action to stop these crimes and the evil and vile acts; are just as guilty and deserving of punishment as is the leadership of the WTB&TS.

How did the "Truth" set YOU free ?

the bible says that the truth will liberate you or set you free.. the watchtower applies this to their religion as if their "truth" sets people free.. if that's the case, how were you set free when you became a jw?.

The fruits and works of the various brothers and sisters provided the evidence I needed to be FREE. The Elders and the WTB&TS spit in the face of everyone that had or has good intentions and a good heart-felt condition. I better not get started......
